One Shot Music Video.

A "one-shot" is any music video which consists of action, continuous in time and space, from the perspective of a single camera— a single long take. In order to be able to make one shot videos several special techniques are used. Most commonly the stage props which are not currently caught on cameras are changed during the shot.

The Black Keys - Lonely Boy

This idea is very simple it is a camera placed in one location with one man in the shot with one song as he dances to it continuously, whilst miming to the lyrics. I first thought it would be a boring video and that I wouldn't like it at all however with the upbeat song and this man's 'moves' it proves to be affective gaining attention and makes you want to finish watching the video which proves it's over 5 million views on youtube when it hasn't even been out for that long.

It is a concept based music video that attracts you simply because you would know that band and you want to keep up to date with the latest videos and music out there.

Looking at Goodwin's 7 there is clear use of intertextuality. This video seems like a parody making several references to other medias and paying tribute but also at the same time having fun. The dancer included links from John Travolta from Saturday Night Fever and Pulp Fiction, the Carlton Banks dance from The Fresh Prince and a little bit of Michael Jackson

Bruno Mars - The Lazy Song

The initial music video features Poreotics (an all male american dance crew) disguised as chimps. The whole video is one continuous and uninterrupted shot of Mars singing in a bedroom and the chimps dancing, goofing off and mimicking to the song's lyrics. Philip Lawrence makes an appearance, uttering the line "Oh my God, this is great" before being driven off by the chimps; he later reappears in the end.

This video is a concept video it is shot in one location with Bruno Mars and the fellow chimps dancing around the room interacting with each other and props within the scene.

Applying Goodwin's 7 to this video would mean that this video is conforming to showing of the artist. He appears in the video all of the time having his face pictured and being the only one pictured as the others are disguised in masks therefore just showing his face and promoting him as the artist.
